Description
About Elf Chloe’s Surprise
Spark conversation about reducing waste, repairing toys and giving pre-loved presents — at any time of year, not just Christmas.
Perfect for families and educators who want to talk to their little ones about caring for the planet, this read-aloud rhyming story shows that even the smallest voice can make a big difference.
At the back of the book, you’ll find discussion questions and practical tips for conscious gifting, making it as useful for grown-ups as it is enjoyable for children.
The blurb
It’s summer in Lapland, and the elves are excited to be back to work. But when Elf Chloe makes a shocking discovery about the toys they’ve made before, everything changes. Could it be time to rethink the gifts they give?
“I’m just one elf, I thought, what can I do? And then I remembered, there’s all of you too!”
Made from recycled coffee cups
This special-edition version of the book is made from Cumbrian-made paper, containing recycled coffee cups, thanks to James Cropper’s Cupcycling™ process. Croppers kindly donated the paper for this version of the book, and we printed it using a local printer.
⚠️ Fragile: the first print run of Elf Chloe’s Surprise turned out to be a little delicate, so treat these books gently. Avoid pressing the spine flat, as this causes the binding glue to fail. That’s why this copy is priced at £4.99 rather than £9.99. With your book, I’m sharing some tips for caring for it, fixing and crafty ideas for repurposing if you want to.
